Long range six five tube gun build 6.5 SAUM

Ok so today was day one of my new F CLASS OPEN/squirrel killer/long range plinker/ anything where i do not have to lug it up a hill Tube gun in 6.5rsaum build.

This one will not be like the other guns you have seen on here. First off its going to be in a tube chassis. After a few phone calls to Larry Eliseo at http://gotxring.com I decided to build on a RTM chassis.

For the action im going with a Pierce tube gun specific action. http://www.pierceengineeringltd.com Jim over there was super helpful answering my dumb questions.

The trigger will be a jewell and the mags will be from AI. The scope will be my 6x24 pst viper off of my 6mm ar.

The rest of the build will be done by Mark Chesebro. http://www.chesebrorifles.com He will be fitting a 30" Bartlein barrel to the action and final assembly of the chassis action and trigger.

This is not a mountain gun by any stretch. You won't see me on a hike with this one but you will see me at camp p f class open shoots and at the sch cup this spring.

Awesome Bill! It would be great to see a bunch of SCH folks in at our the SCH shooting event.

It looks like you are on your way to a very cool build. Will enjoy watching this come together for sure. I think you are going to like the 6.5 RSAUM. It is a performer for sure.

Well looks like when I build my left hand rem 700 this will have to be my cartridge. John did you ever find out if that action you used came in left handed? I won't build the gun until probably next year I have a few other projects to complete first. When is this SCH shoot is it just a fun thing, are there different categories?

ordered the trigger on a Sunday and got a email from Larry Scott at http://www.greatscottshooters.com telling me it will ship on Tuesday because Monday is MLK day. Very cool....

You got the right one...

Reamer to get is 6.5mm GAP 4S .2962Nk .081FB.

Also the PTG reamers need to be checked when you get it. They have a rep for sending the wrong ones. The 6.5 RSAUM reamers come in so many flavors. .

Day 7 of the build.....

parts are starting to show up. got the trigger today. Right now i am trying to decicde what color to cerakote the gun. Thinking about jesse james blue chassis with black barrel and action.

reamer showed up today from PG&T looks like the right part even

think i am going with a Tungsten base coat with graphite black and white camo pattern Cerakote.

i got OC armory doing the FLL transfer for me. 30+ Dros

Ouch is right on the dies!! But I guess that's the price you pay to reach out and touch stuff. Only have to buy them once the loading will probably be one of the most important parts of this build.

When you bought the reamer. Did it come with go no go gauges? Or does the smith have them for that chamber already
