Was back in Idaho for again for a little R&R, hiking, trout fishing, upland, etc. Went to an upland spot outside Boise with a friend that lives there. Hit a nice public land spot with a natural spring early. Loads of quail and chukar tracks but couldn’t seem to find them without a dog during that first 1.5 hours. Buddy finally finds a nice 25 bird covey of chukar but no luck bagging any. Nice morning out…and not too smokey. Birds out there just not our day. Looking forward to the CA opener in a few weeks.
