G6 questions

I put in for G6 tags this year with 0 points and some how Drewmy tag. I have never been in the area so all is new to me. wirh elk hunting and and other out of state hunting I have coming up plus the distance away from the area will It really hurt me to not get scouting in until end of November/ Dec time? Did d16 sell out? I somehow didn’t get a tag there

G-6 is a cool zone....I've never hunted deer there, but have hunted Mt. Quail a lot (early season)…..I would definitely have a bear tag too. It's loaded with bruins....The upper portion by Roads End is big timber country and always saw a lot of deer.....Hunted turkeys near Greenhorn and saw quite a few deer there as well.

You did not get your D16 tag because you got drawn for a premium tag....D16 is not sold out.....The remainder go on sell August 2nd.

Why are you upset you just got a tag that other guys blew max points on. I would be doing backflips. If you could sell that tag people would pay good money for it.

Let me say I am in no means disappointed in my premium tag and have no idea how I was lucky enough to draw with zero points. In ca I have only hunted D16 so I just assumed I could get both tags. I am super excited about the G6 tag. I have zero knowledge of the area and have a bunch of points set on my onX maps I have 8 days to hunt since I'm missing my elk hunt this year I will be out there all 8 days or until I kill a buck.

Now I just bought my first bow with the idea that it will extend my hunting seasons. I planned on buying a A0 tag that will allow me to hunt A22 correct? I see that their is split seasons I can hunt both times correct? This will be my first time out with a bow I don't expect muc success but want to get out as much as I can to get that experience.

A22 is not correct.
You can hunt the D16 archery and general seasons.

Lungpopper is correct, A22 is different than AO.
D16 tag allows archery in september.sam as AO, buck only, forked horn or better.
During the D16 general rifle you allowed to use AO(archery only) tag
Buck forked horn or better.
Same schedule as D16, not A22.

That is what I hear. I’m hoping with the amount of time I’m dedicating to this hunt will make up for my lack of knowledge of the area. I can’t wait. Good luck with you and your family members hunt
