If you want to get more involved in the Predator Policy process and learn more about what is going on in this state, then you need to start by becoming informed. One of the best ways to do this, is to watch the long, sometimes boring, Commission meetings.
I sat today and watched the commission meeting from the front room of my house by viewing the recorded meeting on my laptop. You can see all of the recorded meetings on this webpage. http://www.cal-span.org/cgi-bin/media.pl?folder=CFG
Go to the Feb 5th meeting and under the video area “Right click” on the black disk next to "Complete" and Save Link As. This will download the meeting to your computer. Yes it is a 7 hour meeting. You don’t have to watch everything. The meeting agenda can be found on this website and you can click forward to your area of interest. I recommend following the "Wildlife Resource Committee" part of the agenda. http://www.fgc.ca.gov/meetings/2014/index.aspx
Once you download the video, you can go to the 1 hour and 40 minute mark of the video. This is the point where again the "Coyote Drive Hunting Contest" from Modoc County is on the public forum just like it was last year. In my opinion this is one of the reasons why the Predator Policy was opened up. We hunters possible did this to ourselves by publicizing and allowing the result to get out to the public.
So I ask you to continue being involved.
Our organization has partnered with the "CRPA Hunter Rights Task Force.” We have become partners with them through our involvement with the San Diego County Wildlife Federation. The Hunter Rights Task Force provides affiliate partner organizations with lobbying representation at the Capitol in Sacramento, as well as, before the State Fish and Game Commission.
You can get more info about "CRPA Hunter Rights Task Force.” through this link http://www.crpa.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Hunters-Rights-Task-Force.pdf
I hope you get involved,
Thanks,
