any people here members of the California deer association? I'm looking to start getting involved with local wildlife conservation and was wondering if their is anyone that can fill me in? I'm stationed at Pendleton and have in the past been apart of other larger conservation groups but none of them really do anything down here in southern California specifically so I was looking more for a local group and came up with cal deer association.

How about getting involved in the San Diego Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation?.....We have a local banquet, spring youth turkey hunt, spring turkey tune-up, summer JAKES event, and a Women in the Outdoors (WITO) get together......We also participate in the San Diego Youth Pheasant Hunt and have a booth at the Crossroads of the West Gun Show.
Our meetings are monthly except December.....4th Tuesday of the month.....Our website is sandiegoturkey.com for more information and meeting locations.

I am a member of CA Deer. They host banquets as well. They send out a quarterly magazine too all about CA deer hunting. Plus all your $ stays in CA. I am also a member of CA Waterfowl, which I think is a great organization. They host dinner and have a lot of events throughout the year. They are a pretty active group, and again all your $ stays in CA. CWA sends out a quarterly magazine too and it focuses on CA hunting only, which I think is great.
