My brother Dennis and I took the Whaler out last nite in the LBC looking for bugs. Conditions looked great, incoming tide, almost no moon, and calm weather. The crawl was on early with several shorts and a few nice keepers.

Then it turned into a slow pick but enough action to keep is on the spot. Lots of critters with rock crab, spider crab, and octopus in several nets. During soaks we fished and limited out on sculpin. Each red rattler makes two killer fish tacos.

Sea lions, dolphin, and a whale all came by during the time we were there. Helped a rookie in another boat who did not know the new rule about putting your GO ID on your floats. Hopefully we saved him from getting a fine later on
Great night on the water. Finished with nine lobster, one of the jumbo variety.
Here’s Dennis with the catch.

Cheers!
