Pheasants in the heat

While most of you chased ducks or quail I did the pheasant opener down south. Nothing can wreck 6 months of duck dog training like a weekend running wild after roosters. Well Friday it was around 100deg and too freaking hot but the old man and I got the birds to play. The mega Milo fields are not ready to cut so the late season should produce well dove were also thick. Shot a few dove too

My normal bird boy that shoots video for me didn't show so I had to have one of the other guys do it. He understood right away how the camera worked but let's just say the blare witch folks got nothing on him. 3.5 hrs of sky dirt sky dirt sky dirt. Then when a bird would flush he would point the camera down and giggle lol. So no academy award on this one. The standoff at the end is funny as the bird boy tried to catch a wounded bird.
