Went out to eastern Oregon with my brother in law and son in law to shoot “sage rats”. They’re little ground squirrels that infest alfalfa fields. Guide set us up on an elevated shooting platform for what becomes essentially a cartoonish shooting gallery with live targets. Super fun day...

Not much hunting or fishing going on this time of year so time to eat up the season’s haul. Pan-seared pheasant in a creamy Marsala wine sauce with mushrooms and prosciutto. Grilled Mako shark steaks with Cajun seasonings, grilled garlic-Parmesan zucchini and black beans/rice mixture...
