My D-16 season started with a brand new deer hunting rifle, and let me tell ya....it was definitely a great start. My first morning out was the first sunday of the season, and after hearing reports that it was a zoo in some of our other spots we decided to go of the grid a little more to avoid...

On Friday afternoon, my dad told me we had to go by Fine Firearms to pick up some more ammo for the season. We had been sharing a rifle so I assumed we just needed some extra. I was in for a surprise because when I got there my uncle was also there. We got some ammo and then they had me check...

But do we adjust the scope so that my groupings are more centered even though my dad could hit close to center when he felt steady?

We had rests set up on a bench....shots felt pretty good.....my dad was all over the place and says he was moving but twice he said his shot felt good and both times they were close to the bullseye

So deer season is right around the corner, and me and my dad have been doing some scouting and other preparations for the season. Today we went to the range to double check our shooting. We have to share a rifle again so the plan was my dad would make sure it is sighted in at 200 yards like it...

So today me and my father went out at o'dark 30 for a junior turkey hunt. We got in our homemade ground blind at 6:00 and got ready for the morning flydown. Nothing. Not a peep, not a bird, nothing. We assumed that all the Toms were already hen'ed up and decided to stick it out for the long run...

I will be hunting on sunday with my father on public land. We cant go out saturday due to baseball games :-[
