I read this thread a week ago and was able to find a paper back copy on ebay. By far the best tool in my gear. After I read it one time I looked at all my pictures and I found a nice buck in one of them. Didn't see it when I took the picture. Now I know why it's so hard to be successful.

So what is considered a light tripod weight wis? I have a monfrotto tripod that is 4.5 lbs and rock solid. Would that be to heavy as a tripod?

Wow, that suck man. It was a nice buck too for your first one. Don't let this get you down just keep it up. Hopefully you can get a pass on this mistake when you go to court.

Can't answer your question on which is beter, but I know what you are talking regarding the hikers. Had some really bad comments (censored) from a few when I was hunting d11 two weeks ago.
