What did you apply for ?

Wish you luck...but for next year you might want to reconsider. IMO the Goodale hunt is THE most over rated hunt in the State. My recommendation, if your family has any points at all, is to combine points and try another north east X zone. True, you may not see as many bucks everyday...but you...

What did you apply for ?

Unfortunately, Colorado does not let you average points. Lets say I have 10 points and you have 1 point and we go in together. They way Colorado does it is that we would go in with the lowest party member/points = 1 point!

What did you apply for ?

You are absolutely right. With 7 points, I'm in that gray area in which I'm not much better off than if I had 4 and won't be much better off until I have 14 or 15. Now throw in the fact that a friend of mine took a 206 buck with a tag that took 1 point to draw last year and it makes it even...

From my own experience, and after trying several butchers in this area, Bishers in Ramona would be at the bottom of my list. Like the above post says...you'de be better off taking your deer to San Marcos or Escondido. Used to be a guy in Lakeside that was AWESOME but I believe he sold everything...

    Purposed California deer stats

The hunting digest does not show the official numbers. It shows the 2016 tag quotas. As far as I can tell, they did cut the X9 and X12 numbers (same for those archery tags) Unfortunately, it's not all that uncommon for the digest and official tag numbers to be different. If you are applying for...

    Archery Tag Confusion

Don't forget, an AO tag is only good for the D16 season dates....NOT the late A22 season.

    D-16 First Buck, now gone

New guy here...just thought I would share a story of mine, Years ago I took a very nice buck in northern CA. It was bitterly cold and my pen just would not work. So....I did bunch out all of the proper dates, then tagged and drug the buck back to the truck. Just like you, the warden was there...
