looks like its going to rain pretty good. Sounds like good hunting weather. hopefully keep some of those not so hard core guys, home or in their trucks.
I know most of sch is waiting for d16. I have been working at d14 scouting since summer. This is my first year and i'm exited! its almost all I can think about. I have bucks on cam and a plan. I'm doing this solo so this is going to be an adventure for sure. 4 days of hunting to look forward to.
agreed. I'll give em the opener. My schedule is tight, but I can make that adjustment. After that i plan on giving them a wide berth. Those golden hours in my mind are for sitting and watching. I plan on doing my walking after 9.
I happen to have some time to scout on sept 1. opening day for you bow and arrow folk. Since i'm a noob I don't want to be "that guy" and mess up someones hunt. Any advice you can give me if I see a hunter set up? Is it time to break out the orange?
i'll be solo, out before day break trying...

great advice! "if you are sweating you are not hunting" will be said many times over in my head while i'm out there. Thanks!
Goyaałé Almost all I think about is when can I get out there again. I'm officially hooked. I can only imagine what its like to harvest a buck after doing all of this work.
Thanks I wish that i could learn how to see these deer before they see me. My biggest problem is getting into this area earlier and staying later. It takes a long time to get here. I think I need to spend the night camped out to really experience whats going on. Especially since its been so...
Wow interesting. The main thing that still bugs me about this place is I still haven't found a solid water source yet. Closest thing I have seen is one spring that has fairly moist dirt no mud just moist. Other springs are dry to just barely moist dirt.
Buddy couldn't make this one so I headed out alone. Picked up some snake gaiters for this trip not taking chances by myself.
Saw this and know kitty cats are still in the area.
saw good amount doe and fawn prints. bumped 1 med sized doe 15 mins into my hike.
I wonder if this belongs to the...
I see these great glassing pictures on here that are taken through a spotter/ bino with your phone. I want in on the fun. What are you guys using? My current glass is 10x42 vortex diamondbacks on a tripod. I'm hoping for something easy to use that wont break the bank.
