My daughter is a small 12 year old. She's been shooting her bow and accurate to 20 yards. She will be out to 40 within a month or 2 and she wants to go hunt something. I am thinking of taking hey to big horn canyon ranch. Do you guys know of any other places that is good for a beginner kid?
put moth balls on them. I put moth balls on my mounts where you cant see them and it keeps the bugs off of them. Also for preserving velvet, rub Borax all over your antlers and then brush it off once they hade dried. I have only done this with fresh velvet antlers though. They show zero signs of...
A buddy of mine saw a mature spotted fallow buck and 2 fallow does out by Otay around 20 years ago. He couldn't get close enough to take the buck and only saw them once. Any of you guys ever see anything odd out here before?
I have been hunting D-16 for about 20 years now and have taken almost that many bucks here. I have lost 1 and found one 2 days later that was bloated. Both still bother me. The one I found ran like I missed it into a real thick patch of trees about 5 acres. I searched till dark and came back the...
I agree about not buying cheap but with most gear fishing and hunting "good" or even "great" gear usualy cost a lot less then the top end gear. Example: you can spend $200 on a rod that is 90%-95% as good as a rod that cost $400. Yes there is a difference but not that much and is that little bit...
Took my daughter out trick or treating tonight and in this one house I noticed a bunch of hunting stuff so we got to talking. He said he shot a buck Tuesday morning and couldnt find it. Said it had to be in a small thick area because he would have seen it if it came out. He said he found some...
I went out with a friend today and we saw 5 bucks and no does. 4 were forkies and 1 was a spike. My buddy shot his and saw another while dragging it out. It was a good sized fork sorry no pics. I passed on 2 and then I lost my video sunglasses and didn't realize until I was back at the truck. I...
I want to buy a few, can you guys help me out as far as recomendations? or tips. I am not rich so of course I am looking for a lower priced cam that still works good. As for tips I dont mean deer tips, I mean how have you guys kept them from getting stolen?
Thanks
Matt
unfortunatly it is not leagal. The fork has to be on the uper 2/3 or 3/4( I dont remember which) portion of the antler.
I have head of guys shooting spikes with a doe tag and then "shrinking" the spikes to under 3in and not having a problem
I was out on a mountain when I saw 2 guys cross over a fence to private property. I debated calling and checked my phone and it was dead from trying to find a signal so I couldnt have called if I wanted to. Honestly I am not sure I would have. What do you guys think? have any of you ever turned...
Can you guys give me Mike's contact info?
thanks.
Yes Lyons is the best. I am trying to save a buck without sacrificing quality. This is a very difficult thing to do in taxidermy, but I am checking all my reasonable options.
