Gotcha. I did look, obviously not as diligently as I should have. Sorry bout that. I typically do try not to make double or in this case, triple posts. I was eager to get the word out.
DFW is now offering complete classes online due to "Covid-19". It's cheaper than a traditional class and way more convenient. I have my boys doing it now, as it's sure to go away at some point. I figured I'd spread the word here and hopefully people will capitalize on it, I sure am...
What a bummer @longbowhunter2 I feel for ya, I really do. I won't be heading out there but I know a couple guys that are fixing to go. I'll be out trolling the lakes in search of kokanee!
Yes I do use dry lube. I use this, it works great. You can feel the bullets seating smoothly and consistently. I won't skip this step anymore. This alone dropped my ES by 30fps! It can and will help at preventing the bullet cold welding to the case.
I'm jealous of the V3. I'd really like to...
I like to hear what Dr. John Ioannidis has to say concerning all of this. To me, he is someone our elected officials should or should've been listening to this entire time. He never seems to be affected by political affiliation and bases his conclusions in fact science not junk science. In one...
The other efforts I would suggest would be:
Consistent primer seating
Properly annealed brass (looks like you have that covered with the benchsource)
Consistent Neck tension
Consistent trimmed and chamfered necks
Consistent powder charges
Consistent bullet seating depth
Lubing necks and or...
I wouldn't neck turn ADG brass, even if somebody paid me to. ADG brass is just fine the way it is. I doubt you will see any difference if you did. With quality brass you can concentrate your efforts on other aspects that WILL matter.
No shots fired coming from here, haha. I get ya, but it is sad that, that is probably the case. Unfortunately, then it would seem that is yet another broken system in California.
I get that, I really do. I don't expect them to magically make something happen and instantly catch them. More often than not, cases do take time. But it is extremely disheartening when you do have conversations with these public officials and it is met with a level of disregard that is very off...
Man, that is terrible. The poaching is rotten but the DFW is more rotten for thier lack of concern. The poaching you witnessed is the whole reason why the DFW/Game Wardens exists!! To enforce fish & game code laws! That's what WE pay them to do!
I found a super fresh (less than 12hrs) deer kill...
Thanx man! Last time I brought one in was at Melones a couple days before they closed it down.
Really my passion is for the kokanee. Just couldn't muster any up yet. Surface temp was 68-69 in the morning and was 70-71 when I left. Probably a little early still, I'll be on em soon.
I made it out to Don Pedro today and had trouble locating or getting bit by any kokanee, but I changed it up in the afternoon and targeted trout and managed to get a couple and lose a couple more.
There was pobably about a dozen boats out trolling this morning. Not much action for anyone that...
Hell ya! That's awesome! My wife goes hunting with me and I really enjoy it (she does too). She's got 1 blacktail, 1 mule deer and 1 antelope under her belt, and shes only been hunting for 2 years. This season will be her 3rd and we are going to Wyoming for mule deer and antelope on top of...
Ahh booo, hahaha!! Really though, I wish I could go mid week like you're planning to do. You'll likely get better weather conditions than I will tomorrow. Either way, I feel blessed just to be able to get out there on the water!
I should have a great time, I love being on the water a d out fishing. Not sure if I can catch any fish though, I'm learning all over again it seems. Hahaha!!
