Re: Still hunting... From what my buddy told me, it was a lone buck. They had to stalk it up a hillside and down close to an area near to where I was located. It just didn't make it to where I was, obviously because it got shot first (lol).

Wow! Sorry that happened to you. :( Unfortunately, there are always those out there that have a giant dried corn cob up their a$$ and do what they can to make everyone else's life as miserable as their life is. Say "Smile B-otch!", take their photo and report it to the DF&W like LungPopper...

Sorry to hear about the rough hunt and the truck having problems. That is like rubbing salt into the wound after a rough day hunting and getting busted on the way out. Hopefully next weekend will be the "magic" weekend for both of us. :) At least if it isn't magic for me, I hope a buck comes...

That first photo says it all. I know that is how I will look if and when I finally get a buck. :) Congratulations Invisible Man on getting yourself a great looking buck with a cool looking rack. Well done! :D

Sorry to hear your D-16 season is over, I know you put in quite a bit of work to attempt to bring down a buck in this tough zone. I wish you a carrier's load of success in VA and look forward to the photos. :)

Re: Still hunting... Well, after the excitement of spotting the two does passed I didn't see any other deer. :( I did see Officer J. Funk of the BLM out there and was asked to show him my license and tag. He was cool and we chatted for a bit and then he went on his way wishing me luck in...

Went hunting early Saturday morning. It was nice and quiet, and cool. I walked and glassed for hours without a single sighting. I did see plenty of tracks, and on my way to park I saw a truck of a guy's brother I know. I was about 600 yards from them. I did my best to stay out of the area I know...

And I just happen to have both a .25 and .22. And a .22 will take one out, but as you mentioned you have to aim for the head which is easy up to 75 yards with either of them.

Hope you get a buck to fill your d16 tag LongbowHunter2. I'll be out too trying to do the same.

What about using a extremely quiet air rifle. It's not a firearm, crossbow or bow?

Bead only. No Scope on the shotgun. However, I have hunted turkey with my air rifle (.25 caliber) and that does have a scope on it. :)
