I tried an area yesterday that I found last year and saw some well used deer trails with fresh tracks and a couple of beds in there. It's pretty condensed but I would still be able to get a shot with the bow longest shot would be about 25-30 yards so it's perfect. I set up my trail cam in there...
Yeah I'm still hunting. I have been out a total of 8 days since the season opener and have literally only seen one deer [emoji51]. But have seen some does and a couple bucks on my trail cam but they are all at night. I think all of the hunters in that area are trying to jump them out of there...
I tried that the last 3 times I hunted and have yet to spot one. I know the deer are there because I have trail cam pics in that area I'm glassing with. I have decent optics to glass with. I know that persistence pays off though and I'm definitely going to stick with it. Maybe the deer will...
Hey my areas up in D11 or so heavily hunted that all of the deer are night owls. I guess that is why they are called the gray ghosts [emoji51]. So how does one get a deer when you can't hunt at night!!?? Lol
Sweet video. The first 10 years of my hunting life I would just go for the length of the season then put my gear away and not think about it for another year. The last few years it has really become my years focus and I hope it can keep growing inside me and I would dedicate more time to...
I changed the batteries in the cam and did a factory reset on it. Started taking pictures right away!! Batteries I installed first must have been old which is weird because they were in a brand new package. [emoji51]
If there is such a big problem with pig population why doesn't the state just allow us hunters to harvest them with just a license instead of charging money for one tag at a time? (Unless I have it wrong)
I don't think it's an SD card issue because it will let me take test pictures and they store correctly on the card. To me it just seems like a motion detect problem. I'll try changing the batteries and doing a restore to default setting and let u guys know how it goes. Thanks for the info Y'all!!
I just bought a moultrie 880i yesterday and can't figure out how to get it to take pictures. Read the owners manual and doesn't give a description of the issue im having. It says to establish the motion sensor distance and then switch it on once it's done detecting. However once it's switched on...
Sweet man!! This year in SoCal is tough, so first legal deer I see buck or doe is going down with my A31 tag. I finished my last pack of deer steaks 2 weeks ago!! [emoji51]

thanks for the info man! I'll try and put a game plan together to find an area that may be like your saying. I've been hunting way up high in the bighorn sheep mountains. I should have mentioned that I am seeing fresh deer sign however no deer to go with it. Lol

Anybody else notice that the deer hunting has been pretty bad this year? I have been out 5 mornings in the A31/D11 zone this season and have only seen 1 deer total! Is it due to the drought? Poor weather? Or mountain lions? It's kind of a bummer cause I've been hunting that area for 14 years...
Yeah it's going about the same this year for me so far. I saw a buck opening weekend of the A31 season but he didn't give me a chance for a shot. I think it's just still too hot yet. Hopefully by the end of the month we will get a weather change and get these deer moving.

I was [emoji108] this close to scoring my first buck/deer with the archery gear. A forky crossed the trail I was walking on ten yards in front of me and didn't give me the chance to draw my bow before he ran for the town to have a beer [emoji41]. My closest encounter with the bow and it keeps me...
I'm so pumped!! My week hunting trip up in D7 starts on the 20th and after that my A31 till December 31st. Wish I could have done more scouting but either way it's going to be a good season this year.
Has anyone had any early archery season success yet? I pray for a safe and fruitful season...
