Big Bear thanksgiving mountain quail success.

Don't be ashamed at all bud. I grew up hunting those things and I've honestly ony shot two out of the air. I'm convinced that they are the least likely to flush. Last week I got into a covey of 100+ quail, all valley and mountain quail mixed together. Ended up flushing small coveys of valley...

Bobcat Skull.. Camo or Leave It?

Camo skull for those that haven't seen them. My guy masks the teeth and the pattern will be different, just a reference.

Bobcat Skull.. Camo or Leave It?

Just got my bobcat skull back from the bug guy. Trying to decide if I should dip it in Max 1 or just leaving it bleached. What do you think? It'll look good either way but those camo skulls look mean.

    Anybody hunt near Sutherland?

You literally just won the lotto bud. I was out there calling last night, saw hundreds of turkey on private and 3 bobcats. You should see if the property owner has a predator problem, good way to get a feel for the land and make the owner happy at the same time.

    Bear hunting info

Just make a trip up to the Sierra's, D8 D9 X10. I deer hunted all of those zones and between my three buddies and me I'd say we saw 12+ bears. With no hound hunters the population is just going to explode. We've taken 880 of the 1700 quota with 24 days left of the season, that's a lot of bears...

    Best coyote riffle

I really liked my .204 as well. My buddy picked up the new .17wsm and is loving it. He hasn't had an exit wound yet and it's anchored everything out to 150 yards. He keeps all of his non-mangy pelts so the no exit wound is a big deal for him. He's also used it on a few fox and bobcats, all of...

    GPS for Iphone

I use the Trimble app and love it. I just download the maps to my hunt units before I go and use them without service. That's all I used in Nevada actually, but I recommend having paper maps as well. Can't be too safe.

    More chukar

Zero chukar around Ridgecrest too. I went through the neighborhoods that are usually packed and didn't see a single bird.

    Kitty Down

Heck of a first post bud... I'd do some terrible things to some good people for an all black bobcat.

    King Jr. Is back!

Made a trip to the Sierras last weekend, got snowed or rained on the whole time. Makes for some pretty miserable stands! Good shooting Taft.
