How do you deer hunt so cal?

TA's post was great. I saved it to an email to share with several people. I wonder if the for em should expand on it a do a post on local deer biology. Most deer hunting information is white tail deer related. Even if you study mule deer articles its almost usually anywhere but southern...

    Case of the blood-belly doe.

Adding to the deer wound category... Anyone know what happened to the deer on the left. I've seen this twice on the same side of a deer in about a 5 mile area. Maybe the same deer.

The funny things we catch on our game cams

Here's a good coyote from last week. I cropped the left side off. If there is a game cam contest can they be cropped for camera security?

    Got another nice hog!

I'll ask some of my young friends at work if they can help me with the video. It was taken on an Olympus XD camera back in 2009. To clarify, this is not a hunting video, but a video of the pig on my profile picture rooting up the ground taken in February 2009 on CNF land. I was documenting the...

    Got another nice hog!

Nice job. You seem to be having the most local success. Relating to pig color, the group I photographed in 2009 was mostly dark colored. The babies were light brown with white spots like a deer. The picture I'm using for my profile picture is a CNF pig photographed in February 2009. I have a 10...

    LOCAL BUCKS

I hunted boulder creek road. Very windy in the am. Lots of hunters but didn't see any deer. Spent most of the afternoon helping my father who got forced off the road by a southbound speeding red truck at the high point. Punctured the oil pan and ran out of oil. Almost 6 hour wait for a towtruck.

    Local Trail Cam Pics.

I suspect this one is related to or the same as the tall forky picture. I had to crop the shot for camera protection and it's at the far end of the cameras range. Date was summer 2011. Still trying to find the picture I have of a similar deer in the same spot with high antlers in 2010.

    Local hog

Nice hog! I followed one this morning for several hours. He was headed for lower elevation where the acorns are falling. I saw him only once and his nose busted me at about 35 yards. I circled down wind and waited about two hours. He worked his way towards me slowly ( I could only hear him...
