NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE ON YOUR GAME CAM!!!!!!!!!!

I replaced the card in this camera and deer activity dropped from at least one nightly deer, to three in two weeks. These deer were not following the same path, but perpendicular to the trail. Coyote activity dropped to zero from nightly. Finally, the bobcat who averages a visit every 3-4 days...

NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE ON YOUR GAME CAM!!!!!!!!!!

A hiker found a dead deer Sunday off cedar creek road with most of its back half torn off. I have copies of those pictures and I think its a mountain lion kill that someone cut the antlers off of. Deer activity on the camera area fell to zero after the 3 cats came through.

NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE ON YOUR GAME CAM!!!!!!!!!!

This picture was taken north of Descanso on one of my cameras. Funny how pictures move around the internet. This is the third mountain lion picture taken in this area in about 3 weeks. The first picture I've had with multiple cats.

What's the best game/trail cam for under $100 bucks

Three weeks ago, I put out a truth cam ultra 35. So far so good. Seems like a good low end easily hidden camera. A python lock will secure the whole thing without having to lock the memory card area with an additional lock or security box. I wasn't happy with the full size truth cam 35, but...

    SOCAL RUT Info Questions

I'm trying to pay close attention this year. At 3400 feet we had acorns falling off the trees in the wind Friday and Saturday. Game cam had two spikes fighting each other and a Forky who broke up the fun.

    pigs in sandiego county

I drove by the property shown above today, what a mess. Matagi and I wrote about oak seedling destruction several months ago. My observations were that the areas under the oaks in 2009 were bare dirt and in 2011 there were numerous 4 to 6 inch oak trees. The wild card in that area was the pigs...

    pigs in sandiego county

Neat pictures in Descanso. I'm in the d16/a22 area a lot. I havent seen any pigs or sign since August, but I haven't been out looking too hard either. My focus is deer. I have noticed a sharp increase in hunters and trucks in the usual spots. I spoke with my road crew buddy last week and he...

What trail cam do you like?

I've gone through a few cameras and my favorite is the bushnell trophy cam series. The acception to this is the 2010 models which had a lot of problems. Bushnell replaced them for something like a 10 dollar shipping fee. The 2011 trophy cams have field scan/time lapse and sound on video. Trophy...

The funny things we catch on our game cams

Some game camera thoughts... On some of my set ups, I try and have a local landmark in the background. For example, If I can get a nice bobcat or deer with the Los Pinos fire lookout in the background it just adds to the cool factor. Unfortunately, most of the time I have to crop that out to...

    Another D-16 San Diego Buck

Here is a better antler picture. He had an eyeguard on only one side. I knew Fletcher years ago and learned at great deal through his wonderfull local hunting stories. I hope to see him again someday. That rifle is a .308 I had shortened for brush hunting. Recoil is pretty sharp with this small...

    Another D-16 San Diego Buck

Chased this guy around all day yesterday. He was having a stand off with a spike yesterday morning with several does watching the show and I didn't quite get the shot. This morning with the wind that suddenly came up around 7:00am, he just about ran me over. I am not sure how all the scoring...
