    Reg question

OK sports fans. Here's a question that has me stumped. It's really a two part question. Can you hunt 2 different states on the same day? Firstly, as far as limits go: It seems to me that if you could fill two limits in one day, by crossing state lines, then limit and possession rules become...

    Foster Son's first ducks

Yep. Never heard that before. I'm going waterfowling next weekend for the first time. It's good to start getting the lingo down. I'm new too. But in dove hunting I've learned there are some shots I know I can't make.

    Last weekend

Re: Black Friday Rifle Dude you should seriously consider this deal at Fine Firearms. The Ruger American has the two stage accutrigger, which is a safer set-up than single stage and it's adjustable. Those triggers help shooters, especially new ones, shoot better. All that won't matter so much...

    Dun... Dun... Dun.........

Too much antler for 1 camera to handle. You'll probably have to go with one of those 3D set-ups.

    Air rifle problem

One last thing... I just looked up that gun. It says it will shoot 1200 fps with non-lead ammo and 1000 fps with lead. You def want to use the lead pellets in that gun. Pellets are so light that when they break the sound barrier (1100 fps) they start to tumble and lose accuracy. Furthermore...

    Air rifle problem

Other than that, people often report: 1) a 'springer' air rifle takes between 100-1000 shots to 'settle down'. 2) different pellets will give you different accuracy, so try a bunch until you find one that goes (after the break-in and artillery hold)

    Air rifle problem

Are you using the artillery hold? Air rifles are different from regular rifles. The spring causes a double recoil /barrel twang. You have to just rest the forestock on your palm (don't grip) and barely grip with your trigger hand. That will give you a more repeatable pattern.

    D16...

I borrowed it from the library and read it 3x. Unfortunately it's out of print, the sellers I found on eBay were asking a lot.

What worked and what didnt work?

Worked: 1) Sitka camo face mask. Fits well and camo is good, breathes extraordinarily well, and keeps the sun off. Will be perfect for turkey and will probably try it with waterfowl 2) Browning Ultimate Field Pro Pack (30L) that I bought from Whoopbass. Hydration equipped, plenty of storage for...

    D16...

I was hesitant to post an unfilled tag report, because I don't want to complain and it's less interesting than a filled tag. As I watched the people I knew filling their tags I felt happy for them, but progressively worse about my own season. But I was talking to Breacher he assured me that even...

Hunting Turkey on Private Land Near Julian CA

I've spent days in the woods looking for a single freaking deer. Then you drive through Julian/Cuyamaca and there are hundreds, standing around looking at you. It's maddening!

Hunting Turkey on Private Land Near Julian CA

Well...it depends on the question really. 99% of the time you will not find any answers involving spots on here. As you hunt more and more you will see why. Everywhere you go, especially at first, you see other hunters. It's fiercely competitive out there; with short seasons, lots of people, and...
