Make the G13 an either sex youth hunt?

Thanks, I read this reg before my question but I think I understand what he is saying now. Basically G13 closes this year on 11/13, but people will be out between 11/14-11/20 hunting with thier G13 tag (acting or thinking like it is still good just because D16 is still open). Either way I...

Make the G13 an either sex youth hunt?

I do not know much about the G13 tag, but I am confused as to what this comment means, can you explain?

The chances of your wife having another birthday and your boss having another project for you are high...chances at another #1 at SanJ tho? Sounds like you are making the reasonable choice.

So far I've left all of the deer except 1 in the last 12 years...so you are in good hands lol. Good luck on the J11. Do all 3 boys have a tag? We considered putting in for that tag, but my son decided to go big or go home and put in for J12 (second choice was D14, so here we are). Keep us...

Caleb had a school Fall festival that kept him up late Friday so we planned to skip this weekend hunting. My youngest (Hunter) has been showing interest in getting out there so this was the perfect opportunity for just him and I to head out looking for deer with no pressure of trying to fill...

Looks like weather coming next week. We will be out there Friday and Saturday. How do you think this weather will affect the deer? My optimistic mind says they will be hunkered down for 2 days during the storm, then Be ready to get out and about come Friday. Here’s to hoping!

No luck last weekend. Went out all day Saturday in the howling wind. Spotted a group of doe at first light, but no buck appeared. Once the winds topped 20mph and the binos would not steady on the tripod we decided to try a different method and walk slowly into the wind hoping to sneak up on a...

    2022 AZ BIG GIRL BLOG.

Elk is some of the best meat I've ever had. I might even be able to convince my wife to eat some if I shot an elk. Congrats on the hunt and looks like a great time with your family!

Thank you! I don't consider myself much of a writer but I wanted to get my experience out of my head an written down somewhere. I figured this was as good a place as any to share and post some pics. In the past I haven't felt like I have much to add to a site like this, but figured everyone...

Thank you! I haven't figured out how to hunt the higher elevations with pine trees since I can't see as far so I struggle more with finding where deer are. I should probably start trying out some game cams. Any intel you have or even tips are always welcome and very much appreciated!

Oh, and when I got home from this trip I went and dug up my old i-phone that fits in my phoneskope so I should be able to get some better photos next time as all the ones above were freehanded through the scope lol.

I figured I'd start a thread to share my experience and some pictures so far this year in D14. I have been hunting D14 for over 10 years and have not had much success. I've harvested one buck. I usually see a handful of doe a year and most of those are seen while hiking and I bump them. This...

    D16 Deer opener

Thank you for the response. I'm going to start a D14 thread so I don’t derail this one with some pics. What you stated makes sense and is aligned with what I witnessed.

    D16 Deer opener

I'm hoping you can educate me on what the signs of the rut are here in socal. I spotted several deer last week in D14 which mostly consisted of groups of 3-8 doe. 2 groups had a small spike buck and one group had a 2x3 buck. I also saw 3 other bucks that each appeared to be alone. The 2x3...

Veteran youtube watcher, brand new hunter

Welcome Blopple! I used to have the advantage of Grandpa's friends heading out a week early and doing all the scouting for me. When they passed I had to start going at it alone. Been DIY in Blythe for the past 10 years and all I can tell you is that nothing replaces the act of actually...

    J11

My young sister drew J11 about 5 years back and harvested a nice Doe. The best part about this hunt was the late season and almost no other hunters out in D14, unlike the general season. This allows you to go to areas with more deer that are no longer deep in hiding because of all the traffic...

    CA Application Day!

What would be the point of my son applying for the junior hunt on his second tag? Does this mean that he can apply for a general zone using his first tag application?
