Matt I have so many great memories of Wister and Tule lake. Used to take our ducks and geese into the Mallard at Tule lake for cleaning. I think we paid 1.5-0 or 2.00. Trudy and her mother don't remember her name ran the place. we would always pickup a case of horse radish that they sold there...

we used to hit gaston's for breakfast on our way to union track. our name for the place was choke and puke just an inside joke. it was pretty good at 3:30 in the morning

Steve i would agree those averages are inflated. it is extremely difficult to average 5-6 birds on any refuge. Not to say many did not shoot limits as we did shoot our limits on opening day but we also scouted for 2 days prior and no the area.

You would be able to get to the northern areas if you are allowed to drive the eastern most road along the 115 area to honker road then you could access 312's and 413's. Also could get on 111 there and head up to the 513's
