Steve,, my friend just got back from a unicorn (spike Elk) hunt in north central NM , they naver saw any sign, heard any bugles, nor did they see any Elk of any kind, but they did see a massive amount of turkey.

Great Elk and write up. I'm certain your daughter was excited to have you there for her birthday, that's what really matters. All my Elk have been with the use of guides. I know Hatch hates guides, but I'm sure he will give you a big job well done when he see your trophy bull. Lots of great eating.

I would bet there is a problem with the action. The Mossbergs I have, have rather sloppy, for lack of a better term, slide action. I never had a break in period. Both mine are damn near 40 years old. If it's rather new, which it sounds like it may be, contact Mossberg and see if they think there...
