    High Sierra Buck

Fantastic buck, write up, story and photos. Thanks for taking us along! Any idea why they were on the moonscape and not the basins? Plenty of water so they were targeting a type of feed or north facing slope?

    WARNING - Traditions Nitrofire

That's an interesting way of seeing it. I always thought of muzzloaders as a limited weapon so the restrictions around them are there to limit the ever increasing effectiveness. Seeing 500+ yard muzzloaders that are fast reloading goes completely away from the intent of them and that season in...

New Vector X LRF binos coming out next month

Does this elk make my butt look big?

And here I thought we went a whole Sept. with no bulls down. Bravo!

    Pete Rose Passing

I would suspect he is worth billions upon billions to the league. What he has done for sales, viewership, fan base, the overseas market and everything else would make a guy pretty untouchable. Absolute cash cow.

Well said, Steve. I remember when I was playing and seeing how gentle the punishment was for the guys using steroids (and it was still rampant 12 or so years ago). Looking back now, with a little age and wisdom, that type of cheating lines pockets of the higher ups, where gambling risks the...

I talked to the local biologist about bear hunting 1 year ago. I would be happy to share our convo notes but the area he recommended is a little different. If you are open to that feel free to call/text.

Its a little hard to see but literally 30 seconds after I dropped him the challenger buck is already moving in on the does. Nature is savage.

Props for sharing and helping. Props to the gentleman for getting out there and getting it done! No better teacher than first hand experience!

We leave the house @ 4 AM Friday and hit the unit in the afternoon. Driving roads and glassing until its too dark. We finally spot the buck in the video with 90mins of light left. Back at camp I look at pictures of him and 1 other buck who I actually thought was bigger, however the proof was...

It was @JakeSCH that figured it out, made it look way to easy. 63gr of n560, Lapua brass and a 1/4 crimp. Its just shy of 3400fps in a 1/7 twist factory 24" browning. I think we went up to 64 and pressure started showing obvious signs.
