    my little buck

No such thing as a small buck in the D16. There is only successful and unsuccessful hunters. Your buck is a nice deer...something to be proud of. Over 90% of the deer hunters in this zone will go home with an un-punched tag. Seeing your trophy picture they will all be green with envy over...

    D16 Buck down!!!!

Hey gang, A buddy of mine played hooky from work today and nailed his first D16 buck in 8 years with an easy shot at 78 yards. Buck down!!! He's on his way to Jim the Butcher now. Not a bad way to spend your Tuesday morning. Its a 2x3 about 16" wide.

Nice!!! I love the way the barel goes under the buck's chin. It looks like he's playing the flute.

    LOCAL BUCKS

Yeah, maybe that's why I haven't killed a deer since 2008. Trophy hunting is an all or nothing deal sometimes.

    Case of the blood-belly doe.

Interestingly, I have a book around here that shows a pic of a buck with an old archery wound in that same spot and survived. It too was far forward. It was on a quartering away shot that didn't pierce the vitals. Like LP said, BAD ANGLE.

    LOCAL BUCKS

I'm saving them for the second half of archery. Right now I'm focused on this one big buck in a diffent area a couple of miles away. He pulled a no show over the weekend opener.

    Case of the blood-belly doe.

SkullReaper, Nice work...very interesting. I wish I could send you the larger pixel version. I appears that there is a piece of flesh hanging near her elbow. Also, the top of her hip is bloody looking in the middle of the dark patch of fur. LP, I agree, there is a dark sliver of fur...

    Case of the blood-belly doe.

Hey gang, I took these pictures off of the trail camera and noticed this doe with a fawn that appears to have a red belly and some red fur on her front left armpit area. I'm wondering if she was shot by an arrow and is bleeding or if its something else like the lighting on the fur or a glitch...

    Local Trail Cam Pics.

OC, You are having a heck of a time this season. Can't say I've ever hear of someones tree falling down with a camera on it? If the spot is that good try staking out a Tee post and mount your camera on it. Sportman's Guide and Cabellas both sell camera mounts for tee posts.

Looking to hunt AZ in January

AZ is the bomb, its just hard to get drawn. I've got tons of points on archery elk and Kaibab muley's but still haven't been drawn. I have done some archery javelina out there which was really fun. Also, went on a coues deer hunt in the SE part of the state and got skunked.
