Assuming for quail in the Mojave National Preserve? I've been out there a few times with my son.. it can be done without a dog. I like broad dried out river beds with large shrubs in em.. I've seen quail all over out there. There's also some water guzzlers sprinkled all over, some googling...

I've seen sticks and other things used to prop their mouth open... Never seen an empty IPA.. I'm going to have to start carrying a beer just for that purpose.

I'd say start with one animal. Say rabbit.. Figure out where you want to hunt (get OnX)..Google "hunting in such and such county" and look for nuances for that area. What the hours are. What the limits are. Species? Jack or Cottontail? Are there any regulations on rifle vs shotgun.. How to...
